Hi There!!

Hello All. Thank you for coming back to read my blog.

Today I went grocery shopping. Annemarie lets me go grocery shopping all by myself. It is exciting.

I have been working lots. I am supposed to be working 4 days a week at 10 hours a day. The last two weeks I've worked 5 days at over 12 hours for most of them. It is a bit tiring. But today I have a day off. I am also very lucky to have a wonderful wife who generally picks up my slack.

I have been reading some books of late because we signed up for a library card. Well, actually, I signed up for a library card. Annemarie lost hers and it would cost $5 to replace it. She is mooching mine now. Send her an email and tell her to get her own if you want. She welcomes emails. Anyway, I have read some Terry Pratchett (which are quite good). I like the ones that are like real life (Going Postal, The Truth) than the ones that are a bit far fetched (A Hat Full of Sky, Wee Free Men). I also read an old Gordon Korman who is fun, but developed SAS rather quickly. (for information on SAS, email Annemarie)

I am having trouble finding work food. I work hard, and sweat lots, because it's warm outside. After I'm done unloading the truck outside, I go inside the establishment, and stand in a cooler set at 1 or 2 degrees above freezing for 20 or 30 minutes. It makes for an interesting environment. I drink lots, but am not hungry. I often find that I forget to eat and then end up feeling woozy during the day, at which point I have to take a break and eat something. Anyway, because of this, I have purchased some meat in order to make it into jerky. I will try and remember to let you know how it goes.

In closing, this story has been going around the internet for a long time; I'm not sure where it was going around before it was on the internet (because Paderewski died in the 40's). Anyway, hope you are all doing well.

Sam

The house lights dimmed; the concert was about to begin. The mother returned to her seat and discovered that the child was missing. The curtains parted; spotlights focused on the impressive Steinway on stage. In horror, the mother saw the little boy sitting at the keyboard, innocently picking out "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star."

At that moment, the great piano master made his entrance, quickly moved to the piano, and whispered in the boy's ear, "Don't quit. Keep playing."

Then, leaning over, Paderewski reached down with his left hand and began filling in a bass part. Soon his right arm reached around to the other side of the child, and he added a running ad libitum..

Together, the old master and the young novice transformed what could have been a frightening situation into a wonderfully creative experience. The audience was so mesmerized that they couldn't recall what else the great master played. Only the classic, " Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star."

I like Aslan.

Hey Sam.
As for work food, why don't you get a bag of assorted nuts and dried fruit together? It doesn't go bad, and that way you can snack throughout the day.
